About the OpportunityWe're partnering with a creative and academically rigorous public charter high school serving students in grades 9–12. This forward-thinking school integrates arts and academics to prepare students for success in college and creative careers.
We're seeking a dedicated and student-centered Special Education Teacher to join the team for the 2025–2026 school year. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality instruction, support diverse learners, and collaborate closely with both academic and arts educators to ensure all students reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging, individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals using evidence-based teaching practices.
- Develop, implement, and manage IEPs in compliance with Pennsylvania and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with general education and arts teachers to ensure inclusive classroom environments and meaningful accommodations.
- Support students through both push-in and pull-out models, adapting instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and service delivery.
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and parent conferences.
- Implement positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) and contribute to social-emotional development.
- Assist with transition planning and post-secondary goal setting for students.
- Uphold confidentiality and demonstrate empathy, respect, and professionalism at all times.
- Engage in ongoing professional learning related to instructional innovation, compliance, and inclusive practices.
Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's preferred).
Valid Pennsylvania Special Education Teaching Certification (PK–12 or 7–12) required.
Strong understanding of IDEA, Section 504, and Chapter 14 compliance requirements.
Proven experience developing and managing IEPs and supporting students across a range of disabilities.
Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills.
Collaborative and flexible mindset with a commitment to inclusive education.
Experience teaching in a charter school or arts-based environment.
Familiarity with online IEP platforms (Power School Special Programs, IEPWriter, etc.).
Knowledge of social-emotional learning and restorative practices.
Enthusiasm for working in a creative, student-driven learning environment.
Competitive hourly rate: $60–$65/hour
