Nursing Instructor
Butler County Community College (BC3) is currently accepting applications for a nine-month full-time non-tenure track Nursing Instructor in the Nursing and Allied Health Division at BC3 instructor will begin Fall 2026 semester. This is a temporary full-time grant-funded position that will continue as long as grant funds are available to support this position.
Responsibilities:Reporting to the Dean of Nursing and Allied Health, the Nursing Instructor may be responsible for teaching introductory and advanced medical-surgical nursing course content in the classroom, skills laboratory and clinical setting. Opportunities to teach specialized nursing content such as maternity, pediatric, or psychiatric nursing content will be dependent upon the instructor's theoretical preparation and practice experience in the specialty. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: advising and recruiting students;
advancing the Nursing curriculum through program and course development; participating on Division and College committees; serving the campus community; assisting with accreditation activities; and promoting student retention.
Required:
- A Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) or Nursing Education (MNEd) from an accredited institution; BSN will be considered if already working on (MSN);
- Current Pennsylvania Registered Professional Nursing (RN) license;
- Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider certification;
- Three years of current medical-surgical clinical practice experience in an acute care setting;
- Experience teaching nursing theory and nursing skills application in the classroom and clinical area or both in a basic nursing education program;
- A record of excellence in teaching;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; and
- Computer literacy and proficiency.
Preferred:
- Experience teaching with advanced technology;
- Experience with web-based course creation and delivery;
- Community college teaching experience; and
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment.
Candidates invited to campus for an interview will be required to craft and deliver a field-related lesson to the search committee. The lesson topic will be provided after the candidate's interview is confirmed. Salary ($47,000 - $54,000) will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salary will be contingent based on grant funding. Additional compensation may be available. Review of applications will begin immediately.
