Program Assistant
The Multicultural Engineering Program in the Center for Engineering Outreach and Inclusion (CEOI) is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Program Assistants (PAs) to support the 6-week residential Engineering Summer Bridge (ESB) program for incoming first-year engineering students. This academic transition program introduces students to foundational subjects such as pre-calculus/calculus, chemistry, metacognition, and research, while also fostering community and professional development. Participants also learn critical team building skills through engaging in a 6-week robotics competition and gain valuable professional development through weekly enrichment sessions.
Program Assistants play a vital role in the success of the ESB program by mentoring participants, facilitating enrichment activities, and collaborating with peers to deliver engaging and supportive programming.
Primary Responsibilities Include, but Are Not Limited to:
- Supporting the academic and professional development of ESB participants through mentorship and guidance.
- Building a strong sense of community by coordinating, facilitating, and participating in enrichment and social activities.
- Collaborating in specialized teams (Community Building, Robotics, Academic, and Metacognition) to design and implement additional programming.
- Taking attendance during all sessions.
- Holding weekly meetings with assigned mentees to provide support and guidance.
- Attending and contributing to evening review sessions and community-building events.
- Serving as a positive role model and resource for incoming students.
- Assisting with general program logistics and supporting program staff as needed.
Qualifications:
- Must be a rising second-year engineering student with experience in the ESB program.
- Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Passion for mentoring and supporting first-year students.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills and a proactive attitude.
- Willingness to engage in evening and weekend activities as required by the program schedule.

40 hours per week - Compensation: $11/hour
