Under the supervision of the Assistant Dean of Students/Director of Student Success, the Part-Time Student Success Coordinator will perform individual interventions and collaborative programmatic duties to promote student success and retention at Messiah and fulfill the purpose of the Office of Student Success. This is a 10 month, part-time 20 hours/week position.
Responsibilities Primary Duties- Support a caseload of academic probation and warning students and create individual academic success plans with them
- Serve as the primary point of contact for First-Year students needing academic support and/or help as they transition to college
- Oversee and respond to Academic Updates submitted by educators indicating academic performance concerns for undergraduate students
- Participate in Welcome Week/Orientation programming by assisting with the SOAR early arrival program and other University programming as assigned
- Assist in researching and implementing retention initiatives and strategies for campus
- Refer students to on/off campus support services and follow up as needed
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing events for the Office of Student Success
- Serve as an Undeclared student advisor for Academic Advising
- Assist in preparing, disseminating, and responding to Bridge to Success Survey tasks and communication (biannual)
- Utilize the Student Care Community to report and document student concerns and/or updates to colleagues
- Assist in managing the Office of Student Success administrative tasks and work (i.e. updating office website)
- Provide support to sub-populations and demographics of students (i.e. Commuters, Transfers, First Generation, etc.) experiencing challenges and/or barriers to their college experience
- Attend care team meetings as needed for undergraduate students and ensure follow up on the plan created for them
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and community partners to create networks of care and support for undergraduate students
- Present services, initiatives, and various topics on behalf of Office of Student Success in classes and events as needed/delegated
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships across campus
- Attend Student Success and Engagement division wide meetings (i.e. Synchronicity)
- Maintain consistent and reliable attendance
- Manage Office of Student Success Outlook inbox
- Order office and program supplies as needed
- Develop an complete special projects assigned
- Help manage the Loaner Laptop service for undergraduate students
- Other duties as assigned
1-3 years post-Bachelor's
Experience PreferredHigher education or related field
