Monday - Thursday, 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Full-year position
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) with strong behavioral support experience to provide one-on-one assistance to a student within a school setting. This role is focused on supporting both academic engagement and behavioral development while ensuring the student can successfully access curriculum and school resources.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-on-one support to a student with behavioral needs
* Assist the student in achieving academic and behavioral goals
* Implement behavior support strategies and interventions as directed
* Support the student with modifications and accommodations to access curriculum
* Provide physical assistance when needed to ensure safe mobility and participation
* Adapt instructional materials as necessary to meet student needs
* Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and administration
* Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment for the student
Reporting Structure:
Reports to the Supervisor of Special Education and Building Principal
Required Qualifications:
* Experience working with children with behavioral needs preferred
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and behavior management skills
* Ability to follow directives and work as part of a multidisciplinary team
Pre-Employment Requirements:
* PA Child Abuse Clearance, PA Criminal History Clearance, and FBI Clearance (all within one year)
* Proof of qualifications
* CPR and First Aid Certification
* Arrest/Conviction Report & Certification (Act 24)
* Letter of Assurance confirming completion of Act 168 Employment History Review
* Proof of Act 126 Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training
* Tuberculosis test (completed within the last 3 months)
* 10-panel drug screening
