Location: Bensalem

School Psychologist

The Bensalem Township School District is anticipating an opening for a School Psychologist. This will be a full time contracted position. The qualified candidate will possess all necessary certifications and clearances to serve as a school psychologist within a public school district, have an excellent skill set regarding evaluations, report writing, and providing interventions to students.

Position Overview

The Bensalem Township School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified School Psychologist to join our special services department. The ideal candidate will provide a full range of psychological services to support the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral development of students in our K-12 schools.

This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with educators, administrators, and families to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct psycho educational assessments and interpret results for eligibility and educational planning.
  • Provide counseling and intervention services to students individually and in small groups.
  • Develop and support the implementation of positive behavior support plans (PBSPs) and individualized education programs (IEPs).
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including eligibility, IEP, and Section 504 and gifted meetings.
  • Consult with teachers, parents, and administrators on student learning and behavior concerns.
  • Collaborate with school teams on Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RTI) strategies.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support in response to student and school emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records and documentation in compliance with federal, state, and district guidelines.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Master's or Specialist degree in School Psychology from an accredited program
  • Current certification/licensure as a School Psychologist in the state of PA
  • Knowledge of state and federal special education laws (IDEA, Section 504)

Psychologists are compensated according to the District's Act 93 compensation plan. This is a 10-month,(200 days) full-time position with a pro-rated salary.
