STOVS-Program Assistant
STOVS Program Assistant will assist with the program development, implementation and execution of the STOVS program. This position provides administrative support to the STOVS Program Director. Program is 35 hours/week for two weeks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide assistance to students after class (Monday
- Friday 9:00 a.m.
-11:00 p.m.). Coordinate student activities and preparation for STOVS. Assist students in study hall through one-on-one mentoring (Mon-Fri afternoons between 3:30-6:30 p.m.). Meet with students to discuss goal-setting, healthy habits, and academic confidence. Assist with evening social and learning activities to maximize student engagement. Offer support to students who are struggling with course work, or who need assistance with their acclimation to Villanova.
Attend and participate in planning and feedback meetings. Provide updates to STOVS director and professors regarding student concerns and needs. Be available for student questions and concerns via email throughout the program. Assist with program design. Assist with coordinating and scheduling of program and presenters. Assist with student paperwork/applications. Assist with all follow-up to students and their families. Facilitate group workshops and provide student advising weekly.
Assist with evening social and online learning activities to maximize student engagement. Assist with Peer Leader supervision and other administrative tasks to be assigned. Be available for any student and parent questions and concerns via email throughout the program.
Minimum Qualifications:
Work Experience:
Advanced knowledge of student development theory. Ability to provide supportive and constructive feedback to students. Knowledge of issues of difference in higher education, particularly educational equity. Proven ability to use MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat. Work
Skills:
Excellent interpersonal skills to relate easily & effectively with students and staff. Possess traits of good judgment and maturity that align with the University's mission. Will be required to work evenings throughout the duration of the program. Employment subject to satisfactory background check. Job Specific Knowledge:

Salary Posting Information: $15.00/hour. Job Classification: non-exempt.
