Coordinator Of Early Childhood Education Programs
This Coordinator of Early Childhood Education Programs supports the Supervisor of Early Childhood Education Programs in leading and ensuring the delivery of a high-quality early childhood education programs and supports. This position directs the delivery of federal and state early childhood education programs, including but not limited to Early Head Start, Pre-School Head Start, Pre-K Counts, HSSAP and supplemental early childhood education programming (both CCIS and private pay).
Essential Functions
- Provide program leadership to ensure full compliance with federal and state regulations and effective management and governance systems. Leading review of existing program structures or norms, pinpointing strengths and opportunities for enhancement, and providing administrative assistance to ensure attainment of program objectives.
- Collaborate with colleagues in other departments in order to expand the programs ability to meet the needs of children all students, and to ensure accountability and renewal is continuous, responsive to program needs, and evidence based.
- Collaborates with DCIU leaders and other stakeholders to ensure the program delivers quality services resulting in improved outcomes for children and families.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Head Start Program Performance Standards related to Education and Child Development Program Services, and how to meet them.
- Monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on classroom and education component activities, data and statistics, and program information including: assessments, staff and parent concerns, classrooms and socializations, child outcomes, community partnerships, and staff growth.
- Coordinates monthly reviews of a random sampling of children's files, TS GOLD, and Child Plus reports and pertinent data for timely delivery of services.
- Coordinates with Educational Managers to ensure compliance with DCIU's Policies, Administrative Directives.
Requirements
Education Required:
Master's degree in job-related area.
Certification
Required:
PDE Early Childhood Certification, required; CLASS Evaluator Certification Preferred, PDE Administrative Certification Preferred
Experience
Required:
Job related experience within the field of early childhood education with increasing levels of responsibility is required.
Other
Qualifications:
Oral and written communication skills, computer literacy, strong organizational skills, must use tact and diplomacy, acts as leader on student services and special education issues. Excellent decision-making skills; maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times. Ability to relate to and function effectively with people of varying background and position. Ability to communicate effectively and possess a positive and professional attitude toward duties and responsibilities.
