Description:
The Eastern Lebanon County School District (ELCO) is now accepting applications for an anticipated High School Special Education Mathematics Teacher. ELCO is committed to providing high-quality, inclusive education for all students. We take pride in fostering an environment that supports diverse learners, empowering them to reach their full potential. The successful candidate should have experience teaching students of varying academic and social-emotional needs at the secondary level.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing content instruction in Mathematics in the special education setting, as well as co-teaching formats. The teacher will provide instruction to students with disabilities, ensuring they receive the necessary support and accommodations to succeed. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative educator who can differentiate instruction, implement IEPs, and foster a positive learning environment that encourages student growth.

Additionally, the successful candidate will support the district’s planned expansion of co-teaching services to students in science. Strong student engagement, communication skills (verbal and written), excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to lead and effectively utilize classroom paraprofessional staff members are desired. They must possess the ability to develop and deliver engaging, math instruction aligned with student IEPs, modify curriculum and instructional strategies, provide individualized and small group instruction, and collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families.

In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting students with post-secondary transition planning, as well as designing, writing, and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs), as well as leading IEP Team meetings with parents and school personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

Certification in:

• Pennsylvania Special Education Certification
  • Secondary Mathematics Certification

Clearances:

• All required clearances must be compliant with the Pennsylvania Department of Education's mandated criteria for hire, including:
  • Current Act 34, 151, and 144
