Job SummaryThe Theater Director provides visionary artistic leadership for the school's yearly musical production, with a commitment to excellence, innovation, and elevating the program to the highest standard of performance. This role is responsible for the entire production, including but not limited to auditions and casting, while directing all aspects of the performance. The director will design and lead rigorous and purposeful rehearsals, developing and guiding students' skills in acting, storytelling, music, and stage presence while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and artistic growth.
The director will ensure alignment across all creative and technical elements to produce a cohesive and high-caliber performance while working with the entire musical staff. The director will maintain clear communication with students, families, and school personnel, manage rehearsal schedules and production timelines, and ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants and staff.

- Communication with administration, faculty, students, and families
- Overseeing all rehearsals
- Any other duties as assigned

Other Requirements- Previous experience directing
- Previous experience working with children
- An understanding of child development and the skills necessary to relate to the students being taught
- The ability to handle situations with fairness and patience
- Good writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, a high degree of credibility, integrity, and self-confidence is essential
Clear records of Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check (PATCH), Pennsylvania Child Abuse History, and Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Background Fingerprint Check as required under the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Act 153 of 2014 (No less than 1 year old). Also, attendance at the online Protecting God's Children class and Mandated Reporter Training.

Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and stoop. Must be able to talk and hear, both in person and by telephone. Use of hands to perform standard classroom duties and use office equipment is required. Reaching and lifting up to 10 pounds is also required. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken word;
hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities.
Stipend position, after school hours, which may be required to assist with special duties and work outside the normal school day to attend school-related events.
