Long-Term Substitute Position Beginning August 2026

The Upper Darby School District is seeking applicants for a long-term substitute English Teacher position for the Fall 2026 Semester (August 25, 2026 – January 22, 2027).

To participate, as a member of the instructional staff, in directing the learning of high school students. Such participation shall be directed toward attainment of general and specific objectives of the curricula of the school, and of the school district.

• PA Instructional Certificate:
  English 7-12
• Out-of-state educators and anyone seeking an emergency certificate should review the guidelines set by the PA Department of Education.
• BA required in appropriate major study
• Knowledge of content in area of certification
• Classroom/group management skills
• Ability to use instructional materials and equipment
• Knowledge of child growth and development
• Instructional skills
• Planning skills
• Human relations skills
• Must be able to organize a classroom to deliver the Upper Darby School District academic program
• Strong communication and motivational skills
• Ability to effectively communicate with, instruct, and work with students, staff and parents/guardians
