First Grade Teacher
Elk Ridge School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic First Grade Teacher to join our team for the upcoming academic year. The ideal candidate will foster a positive and engaging learning environment that promotes the social, emotional, and academic growth of all students. This full-time position requires a commitment to developing innovative lesson plans, collaborating with colleagues, and engaging with parents and the community to support student success.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
- Create an environment that encourages student participation, curiosity, and respect.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through formal and informal methods, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
- Collaborate with fellow educators, specialists, and support staff to enhance the educational experience for all students.
- Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding student performance, behavior, and classroom activities.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and teaching strategies.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively and implement strategies to support students' social and emotional development.
- Organize and participate in school events, parent-teacher conferences, and community outreach initiatives.
- Utilize technology and digital resources to enhance instruction and engage students in learning.
- Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education
- Valid PA teaching certification for elementary education
- Experience working with young children in a classroom setting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools for instruction and assessment.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
