Position: Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) | Morton, Pennsylvania
Location: Morton

Empower students across Delaware County as a dedicated teacher for the visually impaired. This full-time contract role provides an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children by ensuring they receive the support, encouragement, and educational resources needed to thrive. As an itinerant professional, you’ll collaborate with a network of educators while serving a diverse, school‑aged caseload throughout the county.

Qualifications and

Experience:

  • Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) is required
  • Experience supporting K-12 students with visual impairments in educational settings
  • Strong understanding of accessible instructional strategies, assistive technology, and adaptive materials
  • Ability to manage an itinerant schedule and prioritize travel between multiple school sites
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, working effectively with students, families, and fellow educators

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative vision services to students across multiple schools
  • Conduct individual assessments, develop instructional plans, and implement specialized strategies based on student needs
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and support staff to ensure curriculum is accessible and students are fully included
  • Train staff and families on the use of adaptive equipment and instructional materials
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services delivered, progress reports, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) requirements
  • Serve as a resource in meetings and advocate for the needs of visually impaired students
