Learning Support Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Teacher to join our team at Nottingham School. This full-time position is designed for an individual who is committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of all students. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed academically and socially.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to students with diverse learning needs, adapting teaching methods and materials accordingly.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and personalized learning strategies.
  • Conduct assessments to identify students' strengths and areas for improvement, using data to inform instruction.
  • Create and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Facilitate small group and one-on-one instruction to reinforce learning objectives and promote skill development.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, challenges, and strategies for support at home.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in learning support and special education.
  • Work with school administration to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies regarding special education services.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and specialists as needed to provide additional resources and support for students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, interventions, and outcomes to inform future planning and decision-making.
  • Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field.
    • Valid PA teaching certification in special education.
    • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including but not limited to learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and behavioral challenges.
    • Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and relevant educational legislation.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
    • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
    • Commitment to promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
    • A passion for education and a desire to make a positive impact on the lives of students.
