Learning Support Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Teacher to join our dynamic educational team at Hopewell School. This full-time position is designed for an individual who is committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment and supporting students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that promote academic success and social-emotional growth for all students.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt and modify curriculum to meet the needs of students.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in both one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary to ensure academic success.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and strategies for support at home.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and coordinate services.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Stay updated on best practices and current research in special education and learning support.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, IEPs, and other documentation as required by school policies.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of learning support.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in education
  • Valid PA teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to create and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with educational best practices.
  • Knowledge of assistive technology and resources for students with learning differences is a plus.
