Learning Support Teacher
Penn's Grove Middle School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in fostering an inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs. This full-time position requires a commitment to supporting students' academic and social-emotional growth, collaborating with educators, and engaging with families to ensure that all students can thrive.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with learning differences.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet the needs of all learners.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in both one-on-one and small group settings.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary to ensure academic success.
- Facilitate communication between students, parents, and school staff to foster a supportive educational environment.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and share insights on effective teaching strategies.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement and participation.
- Stay current with best practices in special education and learning support through professional development and training opportunities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of school-wide initiatives aimed at promoting inclusivity and support for all students.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education.
- Valid PA teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with middle school students, preferably in a learning support role.
- Strong understanding of various learning disabilities and effective instructional strategies to address them.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families.
- Ability to create a nurturing and structured learning environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about current trends in education and special education.
