Special Education Multiple Disabilities and Autistic Support Teachers

Great Valley School District is seeking two dedicated Special Education Teachers, at Great Valley 5/6 Center and Great Valley High School, to support students with Multiple Disabilities and/or Autism in developing communication, social, academic, vocational, and daily living skills. Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the teacher will implement district-approved curriculum, develop and monitor IEPs, and maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments, testing, and diagnostic evaluations to identify learning needs and recommend corrective instructional strategies.
• Participate in the evaluation of student needs and assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to students' academic, social, vocational, behavioral, and functional needs.
• Design and deliver instruction in functional academics, communication, self-care, community-based instruction, and work-related skills.
• Utilize evidence-based practices and data-driven instructional strategies aligned with Autism Support programming.
• Collect, analyze, and document student performance data to guide instruction and measure progress toward IEP goals.
• Coordinate and collaborate with administrators, related service providers, support staff, families, and outside agencies to support student success.
• Encourage and facilitate meaningful parent/guardian involvement and maintain effective communication regarding student progress.
• Prepare students for post-secondary outcomes, including employment, independent living, and community participation.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment that supports student growth and independence.

Qualifications:

• Valid PA Special Education PK12 or Special Education N12 certification
• Knowledge of special education best practices, instructional strategies, and assessment methods
• Experience with language, behavioral, and functional assessments and curriculum
• Ability to use data systems and progress monitoring to guide instruction
• Strong communication and collaboration skills within a multidisciplinary team

Salary Schedule (contract for 2026-27 currently in negotiation):
Experience calculated per contract agreement not to exceed step 10.
