- Life Skills within the Division of Student Services of the CCIU. This position is located at the Child and Career Development Center in Coatesville, PA. Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor level degree in education required
- 3-5 years experience working with students with intellectual disabilities, autism and significant challenging behavior strongly preferred
- PDE certification in Special Education required
- Experience with modifying general education content to meet the diverse needs of students required
- Prior experience working with students in an extended school year teaching position preferred
- Current police, child abuse & FBI fingerprint clearances
- Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government (conducted by CCIU upon hire)
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Instruct individuals in special education skill areas
- Plan curriculum, lessons, and special education programs and teaching methods
- Evaluate and monitor student progress based on classroom performance, test scores, and observation of behavior
- Support objectives and interventions of the educational program
- Maintain safe physical environment of the classroom
- Maintain contact with parents of students and/or professionals concerning student progress
- Develop IEPs addressing specific academic, behavioral, and speech needs of students
- Prepare report cards, educational records, classroom observation records, and other documentation as required
- Function as integral member of treatment/IEP team, addressing needs of students
Salary - School Year:
- Professional: $62,155 - $89,730
- Instructional I: $64,834 - $93,324
- Master's degree: $69,353 - $101,911
- Master's degree plus 15 credits: $72,
- Master's degree plus 30 credits: $74,
Schedule:
Monday
- Friday, 7.5 hours/day 194 days/yr (Year
1), 191 days/yr (Year
2), 190 days/yr (Year 3 and beyond)
