Academic Intervention Support Paraprofessional
The Dallastown Area School District seeks to fill a Part-Time, 10-Month Academic Intervention Support Paraprofessional position beginning the start of the school year. The ideal candidate will play a valuable role in inspiring and creating pathways for student success by supporting teachers in the delivery of supports and services for students. Work Schedule / Pay Period Part-Time hours: 9:15a.m.
-3:15p.m., which is 5.50 working hours and a 30-minute unpaid lunch period. Your work schedule will follow student attendance full and half days during the school year -- approximately 177 student days mid-August through early June. Additional days may be arranged by your supervisor. While there are typically no pay periods July through August, you'll enjoy summers off to spend more time with your family.
For a full school year, your bi-weekly pays will typically begin by mid-September and continue through late-June.

Education:
Playground and Academic Intervention Paraprofessionals - High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Special
Education:
Learning Support Paraprofessionals for students with IEP's. Highly Qualified = High School Diploma (or GED equivalent) AND completion of an assessment through our special education department, OR, Completed at least two years of postsecondary study (48 credit hours or more) OR, Associate's Degree or higher, Completion of at least 20 hours of staff development activities related to assignment each school year.
Child-centered, warm, and receptive to children. Ability to carry out oral and written communications/instructions and work cooperatively with others. Acceptable record of attendance.
Responsibilities:
Working one-on-one or with small groups of students as directed by the teacher. Aiding in supervision of students in both the classroom and the cafeteria. Assisting teachers in presentation and development of learning materials and instructional exercises. Performing routine clerical work.
