Adelphi is seeking Substitute Teachers to provide instructional coverage in a school-based setting located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The ideal candidate will support instructional continuity by covering planned and unplanned teacher absences across various grade levels and subject areas while maintaining a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment.

• Valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate or substitute permit, as applicable
• Compliance with Pennsylvania Department of Education credentialing requirements
• Prior classroom or substitute teaching experience preferred

• Provide classroom coverage for planned and unplanned teacher absences.
• Follow lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the classroom teacher or school administration.
• Maintain classroom order and promote a positive learning environment.
• Take attendance and report student concerns, incidents, or behavioral issues as required.
• Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, and assigned duties.
• Support student engagement and participation throughout the instructional day.
• Communicate assignment updates, completed work, and classroom notes to the appropriate school staff.
• Follow school policies, procedures, and code of conduct.
