Job Description
The Pennsylvania State University—Abington College invites applications for part-time adjunct faculty appointments in the Elementary and Early Childhood Education program. The needs of the department vary, from semester to semester, and the hiring manager will review applications when openings do occur.
ResponsibilitiesAdjunct faculty will teach undergraduate courses in the Elementary and Early Childhood Education program, specifically educational foundations and curriculum theorizing as it relates to educational psychology coursework. The program supports the growth and content understanding of learners from pre‑kindergarten through sixth grade (PK-6). Students explore theories of teaching and learning, professional educator roles in diverse school settings, and develop skills in educational leadership, inclusive education, and professional inquiry.
Qualifications- Candidates must have an earned master’s or doctorate in Education or a related field.
- Candidates must have pre‑K‑12 teaching experience, with preference for those experienced at pre‑K‑6 levels in a variety of contexts (urban, suburban, rural).
- Preferred candidates will have undergraduate or graduate teaching experience.
- Candidates should be prepared to integrate anti‑bias competencies into their pedagogy and practice, exploring anti‑bias pedagogies with students in the curriculum and coursework.
