Position Goal

The Supervisor of Student Services provides leadership, coordination, and oversight for district wide student support systems that advance academic achievement, student well‑being, equitable access, and postsecondary readiness. Reporting to the Director of Student Services, the Supervisor leads the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the District’s Multi‑Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), Gifted Education Program, College and Career Readiness initiatives, and Climate and Culture efforts in alignment with the Cheltenham School District Strategic Plan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities District Leadership
  • Assist the Director of Student Services in implementing the District’s vision and strategic priorities related to student services.
  • Coordinate district wide initiatives that improve student outcomes, remove barriers to learning, and strengthen equitable access to supports and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with principals, district administrators, counselors, and teacher leaders to ensure consistent implementation of district initiatives across all schools.
  • Develop implementation plans, procedures, and accountability measures for assigned programs.
  • Analyze program effectiveness and recommend improvements based on student outcome data.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for the Director of Student Services, Cabinet, and Board of School Directors.
  • Supervise assigned personnel in accordance with district policies and administrative regulations.
Multi‑Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)
  • Coordinate implementation and continuous improvement of the District’s MTSS.
  • Facilitate district wide MTSS professional learning in collaboration with Teaching and Learning.
  • Meet regularly with MTSS leaders and school administrators to review intervention data, monitor implementation fidelity, and evaluate student outcomes.
  • Support schools in developing effective Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III systems for academic, behavioral, attendance, and social‑emotional interventions.
  • Support principals in implementing positive behavior supports, restorative practices, attendance improvement initiatives, and student engagement strategies.
  • Coordinate district recognition programs and initiatives that celebrate positive school culture and student achievement.
  • Coordinate implementation of Early Warning Indicator systems to identify students requiring additional support.
  • Support school teams in the use of progress monitoring systems and intervention documentation.
  • Assist with problem‑solving meetings and intervention planning to ensure timely and effective student support.
  • Promote meaningful family engagement throughout the MTSS process.
  • Evaluate research‑based intervention programs and recommend instructional resources and professional learning.
  • Prepare district MTSS reports and implementation updates.
Gifted Education
  • Coordinate all aspects of the District’s K‑12 Gifted Education Program.
  • Ensure compliance with Pennsylvania Chapter 16 regulations and district procedures.
  • Oversee gifted referrals, evaluations, Gifted Individualized Education Programs (GIEPs), annual reviews, and procedural timelines.
  • Promote equitable identification practices that expand opportunities for historically underrepresented student populations.
  • Collaborate with school administrators to strengthen enrichment, acceleration, talent development, and advanced learning opportunities.
  • Coordinate professional learning for gifted teachers and administrators.
  • Serve as the district liaison for families regarding gifted education programming.
  • Monitor program effectiveness through compliance reviews, achievement data, and participation trends.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations regarding gifted education for district leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
