Job DescriptionPosition:
Instructional Assistant, Learning Support, Elementary School, Permanent Support Staff (Anticipated).
Requirements:
- Previous Instructional Assistant Experience in elementary school setting preferred.
- Ability to collect data, work with team of educators, and carry out academic support plans.
- Qualified candidates must meet the Pennsylvania Department of Education Special Education Regulations Chapter 14 Regulations. ()
- Possession of required credentials:
- Have completed at least two years of post‑secondary study; or
- Possess an associate's degree or higher; or
- Meet a rigorous standard of quality as documented through a state or local assessment. Additional Information can be accessed at Bureau of Special Education Credential of Competency for Special Education Instructional Paraeducators in Pennsylvania ()
Required Paperwork: In order to begin employment in any PA public school, all employees are required to complete mandatory paperwork. Background employment clearances must be completed within the last year to be valid and include:
- PA State Police Clearance (Act 34)
- Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151)
- FBI Fingerprints (Act 114) Indento Go
Some additional paperwork includes Arrest/Conviction Report form, PA Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure (Act 168), physician’s health form and recently completed TB test.
