We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Second Grade Instructional Assistant to join our joyful team. The ideal candidate will help to cultivate a warm and structured classroom atmosphere where students feel safe, supported, and inspired to grow in knowledge, faith, and friendship. The candidate will be flexible and confident working in a fast-paced environment where schedules can sometimes change. Second grade is a magical year of discovery, independence, and confidence — and we’re looking for a colleague who will support the second grade teachers in providing an excellent educational experience.
Key Responsibilities Classroom Support- Assist the teacher in preparing instructional materials, organizing supplies, and setting up classroom activities.
- Support whole-group, small-group, and individual learning as directed by the classroom teacher.
- Provide individualized support and accommodations to meet the diverse learning needs of all learners.
- Encourage positive behavior, teamwork, and respect among students.
- Supervise students during transitions, recess, lunch, and other non-classroom times.
- Reinforce lessons by reviewing material with students one-on-one or in small groups.
- Help implement differentiated instruction strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Support students in developing independence, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Assist with grading, data collection, and maintaining student records as needed.
- Help manage classroom routines, materials, and technology.
- Communicate observations of student progress or concerns to the teacher.
- Collaborate with the teacher and other staff to create a safe, nurturing, and faith-filled learning environment.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as requested.
- Uphold the mission and values of the school in interactions with students, families, and colleagues.
1-2 years of experience in education preferred
