Position Description
Peer Tutors in the Academic Resource Center provide course‑specific academic support to fellow undergraduate students. Tutors work collaboratively with peers to clarify complex course material, reinforce foundational concepts, and promote independent learning strategies.
Accepts:
Federal Work Study (FWS) & Eastern Campus Employment (ECE)
- Academic Support:
Facilitate one‑on‑one or small group tutoring sessions for designated courses. - Skill Development:
Assist students in developing effective study habits, note‑taking strategies, and test‑preparation skills. - Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate logs of tutoring sessions and attend mandatory training or staff meetings. - Community Building:
Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and encouraging environment that respects diverse learning styles and maintains student confidentiality.
