The Spanish A Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality Spanish Language and Literature teaching that enables pupils to develop sophisticated reading, writing, speaking and analytical skills. The role fosters a deep appreciation of language, literature and culture while preparing students to meet the expectations of the curriculum and achieve strong academic outcomes. Working in line with the values and expectations of King's College School Panama, the Spanish A Teacher creates a safe, ambitious and inclusive learning environment in which pupils can thrive as language learners.

The role includes responsibility for planning and delivering a well-sequenced Spanish A curriculum, assessing pupil progress, promoting positive behaviour, contributing to the wider life of the school and working closely with colleagues and families to support every child's development. The role requires a specialist teacher who understands how children learn and who can adapt teaching effectively for pupils across a range of ages and stages, including children in different grade levels from Year 7 to Year 13.

Ideally with experience teaching IGCSE and IB Spanish.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creating Engaging Lessons:
    Plan and deliver lessons that inspire and challenge all students and are in line with the school's curriculum, policies, and external assessment requirements. You will individualise and differentiate learning, ensuring each student is stretched, supported, and makes outstanding progress.
  • Supporting and Assessing Progress:
    Regularly assess students' in-class and at-home learning, providing targeted feedback to drive progress and ensure all students are challenged and supported in reaching their potential.
  • Building a Positive Learning Environment:
    Establish a classroom and school environment where students are invested in each other's flourishing, feel valued and supported, and are ready to take risks in their learning.
  • Collaborating and Sharing Best Practices:
    Work closely with colleagues as an active member of our learning community, sharing best practices, collaborating with colleagues, and dedicating yourself to your own professional development to ensure the highest standard of education for our students.
  • Contributing to School Life:
    Play an active role in the school's co-curricular programme, helping to create a well-rounded, enriching educational experience. From leading clubs to contributing to whole school initiatives, you will help shape the broader life of the school.
