Personal Care Aide

Personal Care Aides will work with students in the Shade‑Central City School District to support their daily living activities, mobility, and educational participation.

Hours are based on school district schedules.

• Assist students with personal hygiene tasks, including toileting, grooming, and dressing.
• Support students in mobility and transferring as needed.
• Assist students with physical disabilities in moving around school facilities.
• Offer emotional support and encouragement to students facing challenges.
• Follow individualized care plans developed with teachers, school nurses, and healthcare professionals.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to facilitate students’ participation in classroom activities and use instructional materials and adaptive equipment.
• Maintain open communication with teachers, parents, and staff regarding students’ progress and concerns.
• Attend meetings with the educational team to discuss and update care plans.
• Encourage students to develop independence in daily activities whenever possible.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

• High school diploma is the minimum education requirement.
• Willingness to complete required clearances and training (mandated reporter, physical, TB test).
• Physical stamina to sit, stand, walk, bend, and rest for long periods during an eight‑hour day.
• Previous experience with individuals who have special needs or disabilities is preferred.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting students with diverse needs.
• Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively, and adapt to changing situations.
• Understanding of confidentiality and privacy requirements related to student information.

$15.39 – $15.39 per hour
