GUEST TEACHER PROGRAM

The guest teacher program is designed to provide participants with limited or no classroom experience with the necessary training to qualify as day-to-day substitutes. Anyone possessing a bachelor's degree in any field from an accredited college or university is eligible to apply. The program provides training about classroom management, lesson-planning, special education services, development and behavior of age groups, and how to deal effectively with today's students.

• To qualify as a guest teacher, participants must hold at least a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and be eligible to work in a PA public school (see PDE 6004 for list of exclusions).
• Required background checks
• Completed online training through STS (Substitute Teacher Service)

Guest teachers are employees of STS and will be compensated by STS at the current substitute daily rate of pay.

Guest teacher who are employed by the district will be compensated based on and hourly rate.
