Percussion / Drumline Instructor
The Hamburg Area School District is currently seeking candidates for the Percussion / Drumline Instructor position. Responsibilities include attendance at August Band Camp, football season, and various parades/events. Introduce and further develop the techniques of percussion ensemble playing/front ensemble performance and musical knowledge to groups of students whose skills range from intermediate to advanced. Instruct and provide feedback to students and staff during ensemble rehearsals, as well as in sectional rehearsals.
Interact with students, parents, and other staff in a professional manner. Attend staff meetings and maintain open communication with staff members/director. Convey a standard of excellence during rehearsals, football games, additional events. Maintain equipment and make minor repairs, as needed.
Experience:
Must have at least 2 years of experience teaching marching techniques and basics and percussion (battery and pit) technique and pedagogy. Must have had experience performing with a college or university marching band drum line. An earned Bachelor's Degree from a college or university is not required, but preferred. Ability and willingness to work with high school students of varying ability levels.
Time Frame:
August 2024 to June 2025
