Summary:
The Supervisor of Special Education under the direction of the Director of Special Education, administers and supervises services for students in the special education program; implements federal, state, and local policies and procedures related to students with disabilities; serves as liaison to administrators and instructional staff members K-12 in regard to student needs; ensures success and educational equity for all students and promotes best practices for instructing students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment.
The Special Education Supervisor will disseminate best practices in the field, partner with principals in the LEA role, assist with case management, conduct and attend IEP and program related meetings.
Education and Experience required:
1. Master's Degree in a related field of education.
2. Knowledge of various service delivery models to support the needs of students with disabilities.
3. Three years of teaching/educational specialist experience required.
4. Three years of experience as a Special Services supervisor preferred.
5. PA Certification in one of more of the following areas:
Supervisor of Special Education, Principal K-12, and/or Superintendent Letter of Eligibility
