Long-Term Substitute Position
The Bensalem Township School District is seeking a qualified candidate for a long-term substitute position in our Intensive Autistic Support classroom at Belmont Hills Elementary school starting in August 2026, to the end of January 2027.
The Special Education Teacher is responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering an instructional program designed to meet the individual needs of students with disabilities, enabling them to reach their maximum potential.
Program DescriptionThe Intensive Autistic Support classroom is operated by the Bensalem Township School District and utilizes the principles of:
- Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
- Applied Verbal Behavior (AVB)
Instruction focuses on developing skills in:
- Behavior
- Language and communication
- Functional living
- Academics and functional academics
- Group participation
- Social skills
These classrooms maintain a 1:1 student-to-teacher ratio to ensure individualized support.
Qualifications- Valid Pennsylvania Special Education Teaching Certification required
