The Advising and Engagement Coordinator will join the Education Abroad Advising and Engagement team in mid- to late August 2026, with the appointment continuing through the spring 2027 semester. Work schedules will be arranged within those hours and will total approximately 16 hours per week.

This position is intended for recent graduates, current graduate students, or other professionals seeking part-time employment. It is not open to current undergraduate students.

we value individuals of all perspectives and backgrounds in our collaborative, respectful, and globally engaged environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day coordinator for a team of 11 undergraduate peer advisers who provide in-person and virtual advising services to prospective education abroad students.
  • Provide guidance, answer questions, and support peer advisers in their daily responsibilities while helping ensure smooth office operations.
  • Coordinate peer adviser schedules, assist with office hour coverage, and help arrange coverage for presentations, outreach events, and other office needs.
  • Welcome students at the front reception desk during peer adviser drop-in hours and scheduled education abroad advising appointments.
  • Assist with managing the office's shared email account by responding to general student inquiries or routing questions to appropriate staff.
  • Support the Education Abroad Advising and Engagement team with outreach activities, administrative projects, and other responsibilities as assigned.

The Advising and Engagement Coordinator position is based at the Penn State University Park campus (Boucke building).

Required Experience:

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also taking initiative and working independently.
  • Enthusiasm for mentoring and supporting undergraduate student employees.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience studying, living, or working abroad, mentoring or supervising students, or working in a multicultural or higher education environment is highly valued.
