The Agnes Irwin School, an all-girls' Pre‑K through 12th grade independent school in the Philadelphia suburbs, is committed to fostering the intellectual and personal growth of girls and young women. Providing its students with a rigorous academic education, AIS is dedicated to developing each student's highest potential in intellect, character, and physical well‑being.

Upper School Physics and Math Teacher – full time, beginning in the 2024‑2025 academic year.

• Teach three to four sections of upper school physics courses, including but not limited to Physics I, Physics I Accelerated, and Physics I Honors.
• Teach one section of math, including but not limited to Geometry or Algebra I.
• Implement current curriculum and contribute to its ongoing development.
• Prepare course materials;
• Maintain student attendance and grade records.
• Evaluate and grade student work.
• Be available to meet individually with students during office hours and planning periods.
• Participate in the life of the middle and/or upper school by serving as an advisor and/or club sponsor, as necessary.
• Participate in all staff meetings, assemblies, and other required school functions, including occasional evening or weekend events.
• Work constructively with parents and colleagues.
• Inform parents and Division Director of students’ progress through interims, written reports and conferences.
• Attend conferences, workshops, and other professional development opportunities, and participate in the faculty evaluation process.
• Assume other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Physics and/or Mathematics, secondary education, or related discipline required; advanced degree and previous experience teaching upper school Physics and Math preferred.
• Proficiency in the use of classroom technology:
  Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Blackbaud.
• Ability to engage students in meaningful classroom activities; excellent classroom management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with all members of the School community.
• Willingness and ability to work occasional evenings for meetings, conferences, or school activities as required.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and demonstrates respect for different values and viewpoints.
• Willingness to engage across difference with empathy and understanding.

• Adequate physical mobility, dexterity, strength, and endurance to actively supervise and lead students and be responsible for their physical safety during all school‑related activities, including evacuations and other emergency response procedures.
