This position focuses on operating, maintaining, and repairing boiler plant systems while overseeing an inmate work crew. As a Corrections Utility Plant Operator, you will perform the following duties:
Responsibilities- Boiler Operation: Operate and maintain high pressure boilers and monitor system readings
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine and non routine service on pumps, fans, and control systems
- Water Testing: Test boiler water chemistry and maintain accurate logs and supply inventories
- Crew Oversight: Direct inmate workers and maintain safety, security, and tool control
- Facility Support: Complete documentation, communicate concerns, and assist with daily plant tasks
- Three years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of a steam or hot water generating plant, or a steam and electric generating plant; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training. (approx. 1 year of exp for every 30 credits)
