Hourly rate is $32.85.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

This position will be within the Operations Team and report to an Operations Foreman. This position operates, monitors, troubleshoots, and maintains all equipment necessary to generate electricity.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

(Means principal, main, major, or most important duties/accountabilities that the employee performs)

  • Operates, monitors, and maintains turbines, generators, pumps, scrubber plants, industrial wastewater treatment plants, boilers, motors, combustion turbines, and associated auxiliary equipment.
  • Operates various repair/test equipment.
  • Performs all work during an assigned shift in a safe, continuous, and efficient manner while maintaining environmental and housekeeping standards within federal, state, and local guidelines.
    • Performs work per Work Management processes and ensures safety using equipment Tag Out process.
  • Adheres to the conduct of operations and operations fundamentals.
  • Available for rotating shift work and overtime as required.
  • Perform work on lube schedule.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned in accordance with Article 5.12 of the CBA.
  • POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

    Minimum / Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate&rsquos Degree in Power Plant Technology, Engineering Technology, or Electronics
    OR
  • High School Diploma with a minimum of 18 months of trade or technical training in Power Plant Technology
  • Successfully complete the training requirements and time-in-job requirements for the position, including previously passing the POSS test
  • Availability for rotating shift work and overtime as required in accordance with Article 5.8 of the CBA
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Understanding of power plant prints
  • Valid driver&rsquos license and access to an insured vehicle
  • Ability to work in a power plant environment that includes climbing and walking long distances
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • POSITION SCOPE

    • Position reports to Shift Foreman
    • The incumbent in this position must be able to communicate across all levels of the organization.
    • The Level III Operator must have previously passed the Level I and Level II Operator testing requirements plus pass the Level III qualifications testing before moving into this role.
    • The Level III Operator&rsquos electrical blocking knowledge must have continued to increase.
