Corrections Utility Plant Operator SCI Fayette

The Department of Corrections is seeking a Corrections Utility Plant operator to optimize the safety and efficiency of utility plant operations. Assigned duties are done through supervision and technical work to include the direction, operations, maintenance and repair of a central utility plant which generates steam, hot water and chilled water or electrical supplies to the institution.

In this position you will oversee the functioning, upkeep, and repair of the Institution’s utility plant systems and associated equipment by developing and organizing work schedules to maintain optimal coverage while minimizing overtime, thus ensuring the efficient operation of the plant.

Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring that utility plant operators and plant mechanics conduct thorough visual inspections and accurately document any maintenance or repairs carried out on their assigned equipment.

This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

Three years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of a steam or hot water generating plant, or a steam and electric generating plant.
