Key Role Description

Schedules all LPG's (propane/butanes) and black oil via rail, pipeline, barge, and truck. Daily deliverables include a product movement schedule for all applicable products which requires collaboration with the LPG trader, black oil trader, Refinery Operations and third parties to ensure all inventory requirements are met while maximizing netback.

Role Description

Schedules all LPG's (propane/butanes) and black oil via rail, pipeline, barge, and truck. Daily deliverables include a product movement schedule for all applicable products which requires collaboration with the LPG trader, black oil trader, Refinery Operations and third parties to ensure all inventory requirements are met while maximizing netback.

  • Participates in refinery Planning and Optimization activities.
  • Schedules LPG shipments and deliveries. Responsible for updating railroad, pipeline and truck schedules for Refinery Operations, MIPC LPG truck rack and Delta product trader to allow for resource allocation and to support commercial opportunities
  • Serves as the Customer interface for LPG streams, including responsibility for any delivered LPG product issue resolution.
  • Schedules black oil (CSO/ fuel oil/ VGO) barge and ship movements and Serves as the Customer interface for heavy oil streams, including responsibility for any delivered product quality issues
  • Accurately forecasts inventory including production, receipts, shipments and the forward production plan for LPGs and Black Oil.
  • Resolves any scheduling issues resulting from railroad, barge, and/or truck availability, product trades and Monroe operational issues.
  • Interacts with third party railcar schedulers to develop daily isobutane and normal butane railcar delivery plan
  • Serves as a backup for roles within the optimization team

Required Experience Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements
  • Bachelors of Science
    - Engineering and/or refinery experience required
  • Minimum of 3 years' specific experience in Refinery Process Engineering or other high-risk, capital intensive industry such as refining, petrochemical, or chemical processing.
  • Desire to learn refinery optimization, linear programming and products blending for future opportunities and Optimization department progression
  • Understanding of simple coding or programming activities used in automation of data gathering and validating
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in all of Role Specific Competencies.
