Position: 2025/2026 Emerging Talent Program - Science & Technology
Location: Hampton Township

Pittsburgh, PA

PPG Science & Technology is looking for a 2025 / 2026 New Graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science Engineering or related fields to join our Research & Development teams in Pittsburgh, PA.

The ideal candidate will have an independent research & development mindset, analytical skills, and excellent communication and reporting abilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communication: Effectively communicate research findings and progress to stakeholders through detailed reports and presentations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams in an international environment to drive project success.
  • Safety: Follow laboratory safety protocols including wearing task-specific PPE while maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Exhibit initiative in the execution of assignments using a problem-solving approach, time management skills, and experimental design capability.
  • Maintain an appropriate level of knowledge about products, processes, equipment, specification and test procedures, in order to achieve the expected high level of performance of PPG products through global networking with PPG technical organization.
  • Follow internally established procedures to support R&D projects including documenting data and processes in PPG Electronic Laboratory Notebook and Reporting systems.
  • Provide an atmosphere that fosters new ideas and teamwork that focuses on improved productivity and value to the customer.
  • Work on formulation preparation, data acquisition, result reporting, equipment troubleshooting, and data analysis.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering or related (required).
  • GPA of > 3.2 preferred.
  • Graduation Date in Winter 2025 or Spring/Summer 2026.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving approach.
  • Time management skills.
  • Experimental design capability.
  • Attention to detail.
