Job Summary
The Process Improvement Leader for Extrusion drives continuous improvement by developing and implementing process enhancements that reduce waste and improve performance. This role partners closely with Maintenance to strengthen equipment uptime and reliability. It also leads key plant initiatives, including CAPEX projects, new business launches, and product development. Working with Quality and Production, the position supports efforts to reduce PPM and improve efficiencies in throughput, recovery, and equipment uptime.

- Serve as a role model for Lean leadership, driving waste elimination and coaching leaders and team members to strengthen the Lean culture across the Cressona operation.
- Lead salaried and hourly teams in identifying, implementing, and sustaining process improvements through small experiments, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate the development and maintenance of daily management systems, process controls, preventive maintenance, 5S, TPM, and structured problem‑solving practices.
- Apply and promote A3 thinking to guide continuous improvement efforts and project execution.
- Utilize systems such as Oracle, CIMX, Recipe Management, and MVP to train teams, manage data, and drive improvements aligned with KPIs.
- Analyze process data to support fact‑based decision‑making and verify the effectiveness and sustainability of improvement methods.
- Capture and standardize best practices across all shifts, ensuring consistent training, documentation, and operational performance.
Required Education/ Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field preferred.
- Five plus years of manufacturing process experience in the extrusion industry is preferred.
Preferred Skills/ Qualifications:
- Lean Manufacturing knowledge, Strategic A3 thinking, effective problem-solving skills, and project management skills.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identify waste and the business value of eliminating it; capable of facilitating diverse teams through waste elimination methods.
- Track record of delivering projects in a collaborative environment.
- Statistical Process Control (applied) and mathematical proficiency.
- Strong presentation skills, group facilitation, training, Kaizen Team Leader, and public speaking abilities.
- Excellent written and oral communication across all organization levels.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and capable of bringing out the best in others with recognition.
- Proficiency with PCs, spreadsheets, word processing, databases, presentation software, and networking/communication tools.
- Basic understanding of Casting and Extrusion metallurgy.
