The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As the Supplier Quality Engineer you will collaborate with diverse teams to improve product quality and supplier performance. You will lead and participate in supplier quality assurance and development initiatives and drive supplier performance improvements.
- Lead and participate in supplier quality assurance and development initiatives to maintain and improve product quality and supplier performance. Perform onsite and remote supplier audits that drive supplier improvement actions.
- Drive supplier development through problem solving, root cause and corrective actions. Utilize continuous improvement tools to identify supplier quality problems and formulate action plans based on data analysis.
- Participate in daily production meetings to identify and investigate root causes of supplier-related production problems and ensure production continuity.
- Lead the plant’s SCAR process for RCCA activities related to supplier nonconformances, ensuring timely product returns and financial recovery.
- Support NPI activities related to supplier and material qualification; develop strategies to reduce rejected material.
- Provide periodic status reporting to senior management on supplier performance.
- Communicate with suppliers on design/specification changes, failed first article inspections, non-conformance dispositions, and corrective action plans; review and process external requests for quality deviations.
- Be involved in early concept-to-product phases and design reviews; influence and develop supplier agreements and requirements.
- Establish and cultivate a network of resources to facilitate assignments; lead teams and projects as required; promote effective teamwork.
- Lead process and quality engineering efforts with Lean, DMAIC and CAPA methodologies to identify and complete process improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science, engineering or technical discipline (completed and verified prior to start).
- Five (5) years of combined experience in supplier quality, engineering, Six Sigma or another technical role in a private, public, government or military environment.
- Additional preferred qualifications include:
Master’s degree in science or engineering; experience using continuous improvement tools (FMEA, root cause analysis, SPC, PPAP, APQP, process mapping); supplier audits; reading technical drawings; GD&T knowledge; ISO 9001 awareness; supplier evaluation techniques; strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders; quality certifications (CQE, CQA, CSQP); proficiency with Microsoft Office and statistics tools (e.g., Minitab); experience in life safety, medical device or electronic device manufacturing;
experience with SAP.

- Travel: Up to 20% (domestic and/or international)
