Senior Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to support major capital projects and ongoing equipment improvements in a large, complex manufacturing environment. This role is a mix of hands-on floor work and engineering design
, ideal for someone who enjoys seeing projects through from concept to installation and startup.

Over the next several years, the site will be installing three major press lines
, along with multiple supporting projects. You’ll be responsible for full project ownership—scope development, mechanical design, execution, and coordination with internal teams and external vendors.

This is not a desk-only role
. The right candidate is comfortable being on the plant floor, working alongside technicians, and navigating both legacy equipment and brand-new systems.

• Develop project scope of work for capital and improvement projects
• Create mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications using AutoCAD
• Lead machine design and installation from concept through commissioning
• Manage 3–5 projects simultaneously
  , overseeing full lifecycle execution
• Ensure all designs comply with applicable regulatory and safety codes
• Coordinate with maintenance teams, technicians, vendors, and equipment suppliers
• Communicate and collaborate with electrical engineers to support machine controls and automation
• Provide clear technical guidance and direction during installation and startup
• Act as a technical resource for troubleshooting and continuous improvement efforts

• Multiple active projects at various stages (design, procurement, installation, startup)
• Regular time spent on the plant floor supporting installations and troubleshooting
• Ongoing coordination with internal engineering disciplines and external partners

• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• BS or BA in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
• Strong experience with machine design and installation
• Proficiency with AutoCAD
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Comfortable working in an industrial environment with temperature variations
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Large, high-energy manufacturing facility with a mix of legacy and modern equipment
• Hot conditions in summer, cold in winter
• Combination of office work and significant time on the production floor
• Best suited for engineers who enjoy being hands-on and highly engaged
