Operations Manager, Program / Project Manager
Overview
As a Materials and Aging Management (MAM) Manager, you will lead and develop a team of engineers responsible for Reactor Vessel Internals (RVI) aging management, MRP-227 inspection support, and long‑term operation programs for PWR and CE nuclear plant designs.
Directly manage the MAM engineering staff, encouraging technical growth, engagement, and accountability by:
- Setting clear performance expectations and providing ongoing coaching, feedback, and formal performance evaluations.
- Supporting career development through training plans, stretch assignments, and succession planning.
- Building a collaborative team culture that emphasizes technical thoughtfulness, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.
- Managing hiring, onboarding, workload leveling, and retention of critical technical talent.
You will report to the Director, Reactor Component Engineering and be located in Cranberry, PA, with hybrid work options.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of engineers, including performance management, career development, and hiring.
- Oversee work planning, prioritization, and resource management across inspection support and a variety of aging management projects.
- Ensure high‑quality delivery of engineering work products according to internal quality processes and industry standards.
- Provide management‑level technical oversight for RVI inspection support, bolting analyses, aging management programs, and long‑term asset management activities.
- Act as the primary management interface with industry organizations (e.g., EPRI MRP, PWROG) and company partners.
- Promote continuous improvement, collaboration, and a safety and quality culture.
- Coordinate emergent response to customer issues for responsibilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Nuclear Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Preferred 10 years of progressively responsible engineering and/or leadership experience.
- Five or more years of experience in nuclear plant engineering or long‑term operation programs.
- Experience as a people manager or team lead, with responsibility for performance management and staff development.
- Excellent team‑building skills with the ability to engage with all kinds of team members.
We estimate the base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon qualifications, to be 130,400 to 163,000 per year.
