Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is looking for a Senior Industrial Engineer (Level
4) to join our team in Smithfield and Lemont Furnace, Pennsylvania.

Position Responsibilities:

* Applies advanced industrial engineering concepts, approaches and techniques to product, process and services to meet program requirements

* Reviews the development of complex plant and equipment layouts, capacity plans, accident prevention measures, sequencing of operations and work flows

* Identifies new techniques and technological developments for integration into the production process and service operations

* Designs, maintains, and optimizes the production system by integrating design, supply base, facilities, equipment, and personnel

* Reviews work flow design and analysis

* Leads the development of models, databases and spreadsheets to analyze data and provides summary analysis and metrics for consultation to leader and customers

* Leads research, design, development, improvement, and implementation of processes and tools to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, for large scale systems integration and asset utilization

* Reviews plans and programs for facility/factory modifications and revisions to operating methods

* Evaluates product assembly instructions and standardizes assembly practices

* Leads operations planning, includes work statement analysis, budgeting and forecasts, capacity and constraint analysis and production change, to ensure technical goals and objectives are met

* Leads execution planning by using project management, planning and scheduling and shop load practices

* Monitors production, performance visibility and recovery planning support

* Ensures compliance with established industry safety, design standards and ergonomic guidelines

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

* Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

* 9+ years of experience with Industrial Engineering or a similar role (i.e. Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, etc.)

* Experience with Industrial Engineering information systems and tools

* Experience using Microsoft Office Tools, Word, Excel, Power Point

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

* Experience with Lean Manufacturing, plant layout, simulation, and production scheduling

* Experience leading improvement projects using continuous improvement methodologies
