Product Engineer, Engineering Design & Technologists

We are seeking a talented and passionate Design Engineer to join our growing team at Southco, a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative hardware products. In this role, you will play a key role in the entire product development lifecycle, from concept creation to manufacturing, contributing to the success of our next generation of hardware solutions.
What you will be doing- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, product management, and manufacturing to translate market needs and customer requirements into innovative and manufacturable product designs.
- Utilize your creativity and engineering expertise to develop detailed product designs, including mechanical drawings, schematics, and 3D models using CAD software.
- Conduct thorough design reviews, perform simulations, and analyze potential issues to ensure product functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Participate in the prototyping process, testing prototypes, and refining designs based on test results.
- Work closely with manufacturing partners to ensure smooth production ramp-up and address any production challenges.
- Stay current with the latest design trends, technologies, and materials relevant to the hardware industry.
- Play a pivotal role in bringing cutting-edge hardware products to market, shaping the future of our company's success.
- Contribute directly to the company's growth and profitability through innovative and efficient product designs.
- Help maintain the company's reputation for high-quality, reliable, and user-friendly hardware products.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in product design engineering, preferably in the hardware industry.
- Proficient in using CAD software (Solid Works, Creo, etc.) and other relevant design tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and find innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively across diverse teams.
- A passion for hardware and a strong desire to contribute to the development of cutting-edge products.
