Our client is actively seeking an experienced E/I Designer to join their team out of their facility just outside of Pittsburgh, PA! This individual will be in direct support to new and upcoming capital project work within the facility. Responsibilities will include building drawing packages, quality assurance, maintaining compliance, and more! Monaca, PA
Hours:
M-F-40 Hours Per Week. Some OT will be required.
Duration: 12 months with opportunity for longer duration or fulltime employment.
Pay: $50-$60/hr. depending on experience.
Job Responsibilities
- 2D & 3D Modeling
- Able to attend weekly meetings to discuss workflow status updates
- Understanding of Industry and Electrical standards including but not limited to NFPA 70, (NEC), NFPA
70E - Knowledge of electrical equipment and systems 480V and below including motor control centers and substations.
- Prepare electrical and instrument design packages according to project requirements and specifications.
- Experienced in using Computer aided design tools (AutoCAD, AVEVA 3D, S3D, & Navisworks).
- Flexible and Adaptable to Change; at the same time - address project's schedule impact, due to the changes, in timely manner.
- Build drawing packages that have the best E/I design practices along with accurate dimensioning of drawings for crafts to build accurate E/I systems.
- Checking the quality and accuracy of drawings developed by the design team.
- Incorporate changes to drawings with precise accuracy in a timely manner.
- Maintaining compliance with tight schedules and budgets, reducing construction costs, and enforcing quality standards.
- Skilled in Electrical and Instrumentation Designing/Drafting Techniques.
- Dependable and able to provide value engineering feedback for piping design scopes.
- Capable of reading and understanding P&IDs, Loop Diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams, Electrical One-Line Diagrams, etc.
- Able to perform Design Checking and Design Verification by making field walks.
- Take ownership by verifying BOM and parts meet specifications.
- View live models with Navisworks to check for possible impacts on current piping model.
- Able to facilitate 3D model reviews per client's request
- Must have at least 5+ years of experience around electrical & instrumentation design work.
- Must be proficient with both 2D and 3D modeling.
- Must have experience working with modeling software such as AutoCAD, AVEVA 3D, S3D, & Navisworks.
- Must have extensive knowledge of electrical equipment and systems.
- Previous experience in the oil & gas and/or petrochemical industries would be a big plus.
- Candidates local to the Greater Pittsburgh region are highly preferred. No per diem or relocation offered to candidates outside the region.
