The Applications Engineer will connect the sales and engineering teams while providing technical experience and solutions that are customer-focused. The Applications Engineer will manage technical aspects and key programs. The Applications Engineer will support the sales process for the entire sales cycle. The Applications Engineer will take the customer’s requirements and translate them into manufacturable designs and ensure the program execution is successful.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact between customers, Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams
- Support business development efforts by reviewing customer RF and microwave requirements, preparing technical proposals, and recommending standard or custom product solutions
- Lead technical program activities, including design reviews, documentation management, product qualification, and performance verification
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts to ensure products are delivered on schedule and meet customer requirements, regulatory standards, and AS9100 quality requirements
- Manage the technical execution of customer programs, tracking project milestones, deliverables, budgets, and schedules
- Collaborate with Engineering and Product Development teams to identify opportunities for new products, design enhancements, and custom configurations based on customer needs and market trends
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and test data reviews to customers, OEMs, and integration partners
- Analyze RF and microwave performance characteristics, including insertion loss, VSWR, phase stability, shielding effectiveness, and other critical electrical parameters
- Maintain knowledge of applicable military, aerospace, and commercial standards, including MIL-DTL, NASA, IPC, IEC, IEEE, and related qualification requirements
- Partner with Sales and Marketing teams to develop technical sales collateral, product datasheets, application notes, and proposal templates
- Provide technical guidance throughout the product lifecycle, from concept development through production and customer support
- Support customer meetings, design discussions, and troubleshooting efforts to ensure successful implementation of products and solutions
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of experience in Radio Frequency, microwave, or high frequency coaxial products
- Strong understanding of RF principals
- Knowledge of military and space requirements
- Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO-90
Skills:
- Experience with CAD, Solid Works, HFSS, CST, or other design platform
- Experience in defense, aerospace, or space industries
