This position is onsite at a modern facility in Coopersburg, PA and is ideal for someone who enjoys learning new skills, thinking independently, and understanding how mechanical systems work and fit together.

Responsibilities

* Construct test walls, racks, fixtures, and displays using basic hand tools to simulate real-world environments and product usage.

* Install and affix prototype products such as automated blinds, dimmer switches, and lighting systems onto test fixtures and test walls.

* Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues with both test products and test fixtures to ensure accurate and reliable testing.

* Help execute pre-written test plans accurately and consistently, following established procedures and timelines.

* Log test data into the customer's systems and MS Excel spreadsheets in a clear, organized, and accurate manner.

* Understand, document, and clearly describe defects, anomalies, and issues encountered during testing.

* Collaborate closely with engineers and technical staff to refine and improve test methods, setups, and procedures.

* Execute ad-hoc tests based on needs and instructions communicated by senior team members and engineers.

* Review test results with senior team members, clearly communicate findings, and participate in discussions about product performance.

* Offer suggestions for process improvements and help implement changes that enhance test efficiency, safety, and product quality.

* Participate in abuse testing and other specialized tests to evaluate product durability and performance under demanding conditions.

Essential Skills

* Hands-on mechanical experience, including mechanical assembly and repair.

* Ability to work confidently with basic hand tools and power tools.

* Demonstrated ability to understand how mechanical components and systems work and fit together.

* Proven ability to learn and use new software tools and systems.

* Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Microsoft Excel for logging and analyzing test data.

* High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.

* Capability to troubleshoot mechanical issues in test products and fixtures.

* Comfort working in a structured test environment and following written test plans.

* Familiarity with test setups, fixtures, and simulated environments for product evaluation.

* Strong observational skills and attention to detail when documenting defects and test outcomes.

* Interest in home automation, lighting systems, or smart devices.

* Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and technical staff and contribute ideas for process improvement.
