What You Will Do
- Lead and participate in boundary, topographic, construction, and as-built surveys.
- Operate and oversee surveying equipment including GPS units, total stations, levels, and data collectors.
- Direct daily field operations and ensure accuracy and efficiency of survey work.
- Collect, process, and verify field data for project deliverables.
- Perform survey calculations including coordinate geometry, traversing, and leveling.
- Prepare and review field notes, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Assist in preparing survey maps, plats, and drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD Civil 3D).
- Research deeds, land records, and supporting documentation as needed.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and team members to meet project goals.
- Ensure compliance with Pennsylvania surveying regulations and company standards.
- Maintain equipment and ensure proper care and calibration.
- Promote and enforce safe work practices and participate in safety meetings.
- Mentor and guide junior field staff and support their development.
- 3+ years of land surveying experience, including field leadership responsibilities.
- Strong proficiency with surveying equipment (GPS, total stations, levels).
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D; familiarity with Carlson software is a plus.
- Solid understanding of survey calculations, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Ability to interpret survey data, maps, and legal descriptions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Ability and willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains.
- Ability to stand, walk, and operate equipment for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to travel to project sites throughout the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas.
- Ability to balance field and occasional office responsibilities.
