Electronics Technician

About the Role

The Electronics Technician will perform a variety of tasks. You will be trained primarily to support operations and maintenance of EDM equipment, and cross-trained for other job assignments to include supporting generalized I&C field work.

Training will be held in July 2026 at the Westinghouse Waltz Mill facility in Madison, PA. Work assignments will follow, and you will travel to various nuclear sites to perform the required work.

• Perform I&C tasks to include installing, calibrating, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing instrumentation, control circuits, PLCs, sensors and automated process control systems.
• Operate, set up and program ZAP EDM sinker machines for precision manufacturing.
• Ensure compliance with engineering and production teams to support manufacturing operations.
• Document maintenance activities and maintain equipment logs.
• Perform instrumentation testing using digital multi‑meters, oscilloscopes, and customer/supplier equipment or simulators.
• Interpret drawings and implement test procedures.
• Operate electronic and electrical test equipment.
• Read and follow drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions for assembling/testing electronics units, applying knowledge of basic electronic theory and components.
• Learn, understand, and practice the appropriate quality, health, and safety procedures applicable to each work assignment.

• Strong military background with experience in electronics work is preferred (Electronics Technicians, Avionics Specialists or similar).
• Must have strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with precision equipment.
• Familiarity with ZAP EDM or similar sinker/wire EDM is a major plus.
• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent job experience required.
• Preferable 2+ years of similar work experience.
• Field cable installation work is required.

The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $50.00/hour to $55.00/hour.
