Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Engineer to oversee and support multiple building projects from planning through execution. This role requires a strong understanding of subcontractor management, and field operations, as well as experience with review of contract plans and specifications, project scheduling, cost forecasting, and team leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Perform contract compliance, quality control & field oversight of subcontractors on the project
- Develop a complete understanding of contract plans and specifications.
- Inspect field conditions to identify problems, inaccuracies, and potential cost-saving measures.
- Take corrective actions as needed to resolve field issues.
- Review subordinates' work for compliance with contract documents; address deficiencies and implement corrective measures.
- Project scheduling & coordination
- Develop and maintain the project master schedule using appropriate techniques and scheduling software.
- Collaborate with project management personnel to gather input and ensure schedule accuracy.
- Document control & change management, handle project closeout.
- Manage document control processes including logging and tracking new issue drawings and contract documents.
- Review new issue drawings for changes in conditions; quantify impacts and communicate with supervisor.
- Distribute updated documents to field teams and ensure proper implementation.
- Cost forecasting & financial planning
- Prepare monthly cost projections using data from project management systems.
- Develop quarterly cash flow projections to support financial planning.
- Operational improvement & leadership
- Recommend improvements to project operations including staffing, methods, and procedures.
- Serve as managing project engineer/coordinator across multiple projects.
- Provide supervision and on-the-job training for junior engineers and project staff.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering or equivalent required.
- Minimum 5+ years' work experience in construction or engineering, vertical construction is preferred.
- 2+ years' experience managing engineers and project subcontractors
- Ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative

Base Compensation: $110,000 - $140,000 (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
